Theming and Foam Props are becoming more of a mainstay item when it comes to the more well known, newer, or updated Family Entertainment Centers, Amusement Parks, Waterparks, and other entertainment type attractions. Theming and Foam Props can add another level of immersion to the whole experience by creating an environment that makes the customers feel like they are in that themed world. This is where our company shines! VFX Foam in Ferndale, WA has the ability to bring these themed props and foam props to life using our state of the art machinery and top of the line tools to create just about any themed environment or prop you need.
We don’t just come up with what’s cool; we craft items that your customers want to see and ones that make you look great! We’ve seen first hand how the power of theming and foam props can elevate a company from not being noticed to top of the list; how it can rescue a business from the trenches of an impossible-to-win price war with competitors, and how it can help motivate employees and customers alike to become full-fledged fans.
Our process begins at stage 1 which involves conversations with your team and ours to discuss your ideas. Once the ideas have been narrowed down, we assign our artists to your project and create concepts to show you what the props and ideas could look like if VFX Foam produces the item. Once the concept art is approved, our artists turn the drawings into 3D models which we use to program our hot wire cutter and CNC mill on how to cut and carve your foam props or themed props. From there we add a layer of VFX Tough Coat or VFX Hybrid Tough Coat if the project calls for it. Our foam coatings add a protective layer over the foam to give it durability and longevity. Once the item is coated or after our team has sanded the raw foam prop, we add a special 2-part primer and then start adding paint. We utilize a 28’ foot paint booth to spray our paints and to airbrush the details. Once the paints have been added, we seal everything with a top coat that can come in matte, satin, or clear. We also have the ability to add VFX Aquatic coating which is a marine-based coating that is UV and pool chemical resistant. This coating is perfect for waterparks or pools that use chlorine and other chemicals.
If you’re not familiar with foam coatings, here’s a link to a quick video we uploaded that shows our staff taking a standard hammer to a foam prop that was coated in VFX Tough Coat. While we don’t recommend taking hammers to props, this video will give you a good idea of the capabilities of our coatings and what they can do to help protect the foam underneath.[fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”]
If you’re not familiar with foam props or foam theming, look around at any of the major amusement or theme parks like Disney, Six Flags, Busch Gardens, and other top name parks. All of them utilize foam theming and foam props in one way or another and there’s a reason these companies are at the top. These companies use the latest technologies in theming and props to give their customers a more immersive experience than other places. High density foam can be used to create everything from themed signs, photo opportunity props your customers can take pictures with and upload to social media, interactive props for miniature golf and other attractions, themed environments like a tropical forest or beach theme, characters, and just about anything else you can imagine or think up. We like to tell our customers that imagination is our only limitation.
